Communication
In the communication unit, we learned about written
communication and developed the skills it takes to make a business plan. The
programs we used were Microsoft word and Microsoft PowerPoint. With our business plan, we planned
everything hypothetically but we learned what things would be needed for a
business to start. We had to create various artifacts that would advertise our business such as business cards, letterheads and envelopes. We learned about what it takes to In the verbal communication part of the unit, we all had to demonstrate the
proper speech skills and how to give a good speech.
Business PlanI chose this artefact because it demonstrates what we learned in terms of starting a business. It needed us to start an entire business all on our own and to determine the costs, products, store layout and much more. We used Microsoft word to create our plan while using a template. This business plan includes all the forecasting that we had to do. We learned that every business needs a business plan before it can get started and what a business plan needs in order to be called a good business plan. We had to come up with the executive, business and management summaries, as well as the market strategies and financial plan for our business. This project is really beneficial because in the future I might want to start a business and because I’ve done this project, I would know where to start.
This was one of the many files I had to create for our Publishing Project. We had to create a flyer that advertises our business. We made this flyer in Microsoft Word and used pictures from google. The purpose of making this flyer was for us to understand the tools to make a flyer from Word and how to format it so that it looks good. We learned that the point of the ad is to advertise and bring in customers and with our eye-catching ad, it meets the objective.
